Jones Apparel Taps Shoe Designer Brian Atwood for a New, Lower-Priced Line

Shoe guru—and a favorite amongst celebrities and Hollywood starlets like Cameron Diaz,Kate Hudson,Victoria Beckhamand Rachel Zoe—Brian Atwoodjust inked a deal with Jones Apparel Group for a new contemporary label,B Brian Atwood. According to WWD, the new collection, scheduled to launch next fall, will feature a more urban-downtown aesthetic at prices hovering in the $200 to $500 range.

Atwood, a former model and Bally creative director who cut his teeth designing accessories for Versace before founding his namesake label in 2001, makes shoes known for their red carpet-caliber style. His glam pairings of unconventional colors and materials—like studs of metal against lilac-colored suede—as well as their towering heights, have become the designer's trademark.

His new collection, though still in its early-concept phase will be inspired by the "cool, East Village girls, who have great style," he says. Shoppers can expect a greater offering of flats and mid-heels too, however Atwood is quick to point out that the collection is nevertheless a reflection of his main line: "It will just be with a different edge, but always have the same core values as [Brian Atwood]," he told WWD.

Atwood also notes that B Brian Atwood is not a diffusion line, but rather a counterpart to his primary collection. Given that shoes from Atwood's main collection range from $525 to as much as $2,900, the new line will certainly be a more accessible luxury.

As if having a hit TV show, a fashion line for Bebe and their own line of tanning products wasn't enough, the Kardashian ladies are taking on yet another project -- designing their own collection of clothing and accessories for QVC, called K-Dash by Kardashian.

Kourtney and Kim both took to their blogs today to reveal some of the pieces from the collection, which will debut on QVC’s 'Fashion’s Night Out' on Friday, September 10.

"It’s a dream come true to have our own clothing line," writes Kim. "We’ve worked really hard to make sure we’ve created gorgeous pieces at affordable prices."

Kourtney writes, "The clothes are very wearable, lots of pieces that will take you from day to night and key wardrobe staples."
